Today's dinner

The Menus of today's dinner are

1. Cabbage, daikon, carrot and sausages boiled with consommé soup
Soup coming out of the vegetables are so delicious than you don't need
to add any salt.
2. Salad of shredded cabbage
That is the best way to enjoy fresh and crispy cabbages, I believe.

What sort of sausage do you use, Takaeko? Are they special Japanese types?

Takaeko, I have heard that it is a grave insult in Japanese is to call a female "daikon legs".

Have you heard of this insult? I think it very amusing, if I were called daikon legs I don't think it would worry me at all :)

Less salt, calorie and fat but nutritious and delicious!
When we enjoy tastes of vegetables we should minimize other seasoning, I believe.

Not special. We usually buy sausages in local grocery shops. Making sausages at home is not much popular in Japan than in Europe. But I wanna try it!

How did you know that!? Yes! The "daikon legs" is outright insult to female in Japan, which means having fat feet like white thick daikons.

I think that's just hilarious, just the best insult ever. You daikon legged female you!

I teach foundation university studies, and my speciality is ESL, which is English as a Second Language. We have a lot more Korean and Brazilian students at my school, but of course we have some Japanese students as well. That's where I learnt this insult.
