My daughter is mixing the soil and lime powder. |
After mixing the soil with fertilizer, the chopped onion's leaves are buried in the trench beneath the soil bed. |
The soil beds are taking a rest for a week after the preparation and I will go to a home center to find good sprouts of summer vegetables like tomatoes, egg-plants and cucumbers next weekend.

You are lucky to have such a good garden helper!! She is going to grow up to be a great gardener!!
The soil looks loose and very manageable. Good luck
Have you done a ph test to see what the acidity of your soil is? You seem to have added a lot of lime...
Do you know that I have less pest attack when I planted brassicas on soil that were previously growing onions. The onion smell must have still linger.
Your trench composting project was done so well. Is this a common way that many in your country prepare their beds? Very well done!

I also know your little helper,,,very adorable!
I hope the kids will know how their foods are produced through gardening activities.

My soil looks like covered with snow but I didn't add lime too much but followed the directions and what I've learned from my gardening teacher, who is my wife's aunt. Actually, I've not tested a PH level in my soil so I should seek some reasonable PH testers somehow.

I didn't know that! Thank you for sharing your idea!

It's common way, The Sage Butterfly. The leaves will be decomposed in a soil and become good compost.
How industrious the little girl is!
