White radishes germinated

 I found white radishes germinated.

They were seeded on the transplanted soil ( refer to "Buying soil" on my blog) and 2 Chinese cabbages were also plated there.

I've not found any remarkable result yet from "transported soil experiment" but I'm very happy to see sprouts came out much sooner than I thought.

You should check carefully leaves of cabbage.
If you find some young worms, I believe it can be the same one with what I'd found in my garden.

It's a kind of a larva of "Cabbage moth" which you can refer to "Bugs attacking again!" in my blog archive or an explanation on the wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabbage_Moth).

That bug is nocturnal and so very difficult for you to find in daytime. But I found many the bugs on the other side of my Chinese cabbage leaves!
It habits mainly in soil in daytime so the bugs in your inside of the screen originally have habited before setting the screen, I believe.

For warding them off I carry out "F.P.K method" (Finding,Picking up,and Killing them).
After that, I use small amount of pesticide.

Me my big problem is with very small slug, and his colors is the same with the soil. So I don't see them. They may be small but they eat a lot.
So me to, I use "F.P.K method"

 あ、いわゆる大根です。Japanese radishとも言うそうですが、私の中ではWhite radish=大根というイメージがあります。そちらでは「大根」はどういう訳になるのですが?
 White icicleは私初耳です。大根とは違うのでしょうか?

White radish and daikon are the same family. Daikon are large type, white icicle like daikon is white but much smaller.
