Adding rice bran into soil.

I can find various kinds of fertilizer such as chemical fertilizer, animal manure, compost,,,and you name it.

Rice bran is one of my favorite and organic fertilizer which my wife's aunt, who is a rice and vegetable farmer and our teacher in farming, recommend us to use.

I wanted rice bran but couldn't find where I could get it.
But at last I've found a local rice mill near my house and the mill shared bran for cheap price.

I added 2 packs of rice bran into soil bed and mixed it well with soil.

Rice bran will ferment in soil and generate heat so we should not seed soon after adding bran.

If you use rice bran, I'd like to give you some points in using rice bran.

1 Don't use it too much. When it ferments in soil it can generate heat, which might be harmful for vegetables.

2 Don't seed soon after adding rice bran. The heat might cause a germination problem.
Seeding should be done about 2 weeks after adding bran. The time is needed for fermentation in soil.

Good luck.

My wife uses the water after rice washing and we saw more productive cucumber and okra. The water contains vitamins which can be effective for vegetable growth, I believe.

We have to add rice bran in soil as such orrequire any treatment. Can we mix rice bran 10 % in organic manure as bulk and increase effectiveness of manure?
