An interesting article in CNN - "Amid disaster, Japan's societal mores remain strong"
I found a noteworthy article about devastated Japanese from a viewpoint of an CNN reporter.
I think the article might give you a hint for understanding what Japanese character is like.
Takaeko, we have seem many similar articles in our Press over the last couple of days. We all admire the strentgh of character displayed by your people. I heard today that even Emperor Akihito made a public speech calling for national unity in this time of adversity. We have joined many others in the UK in donating money to assist with disaster relief operations in Japan.
>Mark I would like to thank you and all people in the UK who donated for the devastated people in Japan. Emperor Akihito also recognized that and thanked you for your helps in his speech on TV. We've seen many aids and rescue teams from other countries including the UK arrived there. Arigato-Gozaimasu!
My heart aches for the Japanese. I know how brave, strong, caring and stoic you are - you would not find many countries where people queue so calmly for basics like food. Amazing people. Think of you all the time.
>Patsi & Mrs Bok Yeah, it's very sad that we see on TV devastated people in other countries loot or riot for surviving. I believe sharing aids like water, food and so on with them is the best way not only for surviving but recovering from their devastation faster.
