As the last post shows I got 2packs of rice husks from my wife's aunt and I'll show you how to use the rice husks in my garden.
I put the rice husks on the surface of my planting beds, which can keep the beds warm, and finally the husks will be natural fertilizer.

Usually I buy the husk in nurseries which have been burnt till they are black in colour and add this to soil as mulch and fertiliser.
I use peas straw or sugar can straw to mulch my vegetable garden beds. It keeps the roots cool in Summer and stops the water from evaporating. Rice husks would be excellent.
Where did you get all that husks? I usually use cut grass for the same purpose.

It's very interesting for me to know what other people use for mulch! Straws, dried weeds,,,you name it.
Well rice husks is one of options for mulching, I think.

My wife's aunt produces rice in her large rice paddy and after harvesting and thrashing tons of husks are left and I got them.
Nice to see rice husks can be used like this. I think I will try to put some of it on my containers, if i find some, to help them pass the winter.
