Planting Wakegi green onions and extra Komatunas

In the mid autumn the temperature in Osaka has downed so I needed to decide which vegetables should be planted in an extra spaces in my garden.
Today I planted 12bulbs of Wakagi green onion there. Wakegi looks like a miniature leek and is used in various kinds of dishes in the same way of normal leeks. They can grow well even in cold temperate. That is why I decided to plant them.

Beside the Wakegi area, I planted extra komatuna seeds. Unfortunately about a half of my first komatunas have not germinated or grow well. I added extra fertilizer there to make them grow well before winter has come.

Hello!
good luck with your new plants for the winter, I hope they grow well.
Maybe you can try sowing the komatsunas inside in normal soil. Mines grow very well with out any fertilizer, all of them germinated.
Also, I want to get some wakegi too, I just need to make sure how and where to put it.

Wakegi is very easy to grow even in the coled temperature.
I'm not satisfied with my first komotunas so I tried the second adding some changes. Soil in my garden is not nutritious so adding fertilizer is required for growth of vegetables, I believe.

Thank you, Malay! I'll trip to Okinawa this weekend and bring my iPad with me so I'll post photos of the trip on my blog.
